Somehow humiliation always seems to find it’s way to me. Just when I’m starting to feel good about myself God goes and knocks me down a peg or two.
There I was walking into church. My dad and husband were a few steps behind me chatting. I go to walk up a flight of stairs to sit and lo and behold what happens? Yes, my shoe got caught in my other pant leg and I go stumbling UP the steps. My first reaction was to see if dad and hubby saw. They weren’t shaking their heads in embarrassment or laughing so I assumed they didn’t see. Everyone else did though. Even this little boy kept staring at me to make sure I was alright. As we were all sitting down my dad says, “I didn’t know you needed my assistance to walk you up the stairs…” Oh goodie–EVERYONE saw.
Once church was over my dad grabbed me by the arm and escorted me down the stairs. He’s such a jerk. And I have a lovely bruise on my knee (as well as my ego).
Below is a picture of what Sadie loves to do to new things…

DESTROY them. This bed had JUST come out of the box and she’s trying her hardest to destroy it.

Hi Everybody! I'm Angela. I love my dogs, adore my husband and try to make the best out of everyday!

Someday I’m going to compile a list of my Most Embarrassing Moments. It could prove to be pretty funny! Hope your bruised ego and knee return to normal soon…BTW, Uncle Lynn decided to join the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival, so we’re having an impromptu Pop’rs Giveaway this week!
at least you weren’t in a dress!
i almost fell up the stair to the altar in my friends wedding (i was a bridesmaid). i stumbled but managed to keep from falling face first. my situation is WORSE than yours because i am on TAPE! last year i went through the trouble of making my dogs beds. the next morning, they were totally destroyed! they can sleep on the hard ground for all i care
LOL
I love the way you are so willing to share your little embarassments!
Happens to us all…well, OK, I’ve never tripped up the stairs yet.
My most embarrassing moment happened at a church too.
After my son was done squirming around on my lap as we sat on the stand infront of the entire congregation … I noticed he’d managed to undo ALL of the buttons on the blouse.
Lord, kill me now.
Hopefully those bruises will go away soon
Hehehehe….great story.
I have those moments all the time.
Ha ha! I mean , I’m not laughing AT you…
Lexi’s little ears – cute!
Angela,
Don’t let your dad get on your case too bad. Seems like I remember going fishing with him and your Uncle Phil many years ago, down at the pond just n. of the President’s home on Smiling Hill Blvd. We parked the car and were were in the process of climbing over a barbed wire fence. Your dad snagged a nice pair of pants (in the crotch, if memory serves me correctly), and tore a jagged rip in a new pair of leather slip-on shoes. He was a trifle steamed. He got over it though — in another minute or two, while walking toward the pond (yes, Angela, we were trespassing!), and I stepped in a hole and went knee-deep into it, smashing my tackle box and sending all my new fishing gear flying everywhere. Your dad and Phil laughed until I thought they would stroke out.
I don’t remember if we caught any ‘keepers’ that evening, but, we had a good time, laughing —at each other, mostly!
I love that picture of Lexie!
All of our dog’s toys are limp rags, because as soon as they get something it HAS to be destroyed.
Crazy Sadie!
Sorry you fell. I manage to do that at all the worst times. I’m a clutz.
Is that NOT how you are supposed to go up stairs? I have been doing it wrong all these years? great.
Those are the moments in life when I just want to go bury my head in a hole somewhere. It’s a good thing your dad was so *sympathetic!*
Although I always enjoy the pictures of your wonderful dogs….I would have REALLY enjoyed pictures of your “trip” hehehe
Don’t you just hate to do something like that – especially in church!!! Tha’ts the worst.
Good thing you provided a few with their humor for the day though.
Ouch….I hate falling!
Okay, so I think I might just love you a wee bit more now. I am such the girl that trips up stairs. I have only tripped down stairs once (1st grade). But I trip UP the stairs constantly. Good to know there’s another one out there just like me. However, if we ever meet up, it’s best that we both take the elevator.
Or agree to meet on the first floor.
I trip on stairs all the time. One time I tripped and my shoe (which were too big for me, but oh so stylish) went flying down the stairs and almost hit a boy in the head. So I had to walk down the flight of stairs and retrieve my shoe while all these people stared at me. The best part? My husband was there. Did he help me in my time of need? No, no he just stood there laughing at me.
Lexie looks so cute! She’s looking at Sadie like What the heck are you doing?
At least you didn’t show your bidness when you fell UP the stairs as you would have had you been in a skirt or dress. I know this because – I have done it. Yikes.
Sorry about your bruise but I am picturing this in my head and I can’t help but LMBO. Hope your week gets better but hey, it is something to blog about and keeps us laughing. You know we have been there
I’m sorry about your fall, but I am one of those sick people who laugh hysterically at injuries (even my own) so I would have made quite a spectacle of myself. Sorry about the knee.
thank goodness you weren’t in a dress! I hope Sadie doesn’t chew holes in that bed…. my dogs LOVE to do that.
lol i swear we can’t keep anything new in our house. and i fall up the stairs all the time
Sorry about the fall. Stuff like that happens to me all the time. What’s with that?
You’re doggies are so cute!
It never fails, when there is a embarrassing moment everyone always notices.
I thought I was the only one graceful enough to fall up stairs.
And Spike ate the zipper off his bed and all the fluffing out, so I sewed it up. He had the corner chewed off my morning. I’m not fixing it again!
Ouch! If it makes you feel any better, I was bending down to pick something up in the chapel and my heel got caught in the hem of my skirt and sent me flying forward when I tried to get up. A few people came rushing up to me in the middle of the service. They thought I had fainted. So embarrassing….but a little funny too.
I too was thinking it was good you weren’t in a dress. Then you’re dad would have laughed and could have really been a jerk! Once again, cute puppies.
OMGosh i am sorry but LMAO…glad you werent hurt too bad….your dad sounds too funny!
I’ve done that. only it was an escilator….at the Budweiser brewing factory…on the tour…a rather large tour. Then when I tried to right myself I almost fell off backwards and my friend had to catch me….I guess I’m just special that way.
OMG! Bottom pic is way too cute!
How embarrassing
LOL. Your dad is funny!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha.
